Background Email Marketing Effectiveness Statistics
If I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what could you say? Email Marketing Effectiveness Statistics
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like many online businesses now, email advertising continues to be Dominated by the identical large players for the previous ten years. Which means they get encouraged very deeply and accomplish a lot of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the market, causing long-time users to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done exactly that.

Like most email marketing providers Nowadays, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the program.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information like your organization name, website, Business, address, business size, list size and even the kind of content you plan to send.
Then, You Have to verify your Website (or domain ).
This remains part of the approval process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is associated to that domain in order that they could email you a confirmation link.
As Soon as You’ve completed those Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, check your Website, and ascertain whether you are a fantastic match for their service.
(In other words, they’re making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll still be Able to utilize the software to make campaigns and play with the features, but you won’t have the ability to send anything until accepted.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
However, while these steps are not ideal for getting started, it Does help prevent unscrupulous users from hurting everyone else’s deliverability.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll rely upon automations to Deal with Nearly all your email marketing.
(We will get to automations shortly, don’t worry.)
But if it is a new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always some excuse to send a more immediate email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Create Campaign’ will give you several options.
– Regular effort: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Variations, including subject line, from title and, yes, even content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Don’t start your broadcast email, with the option of changing the subject line and email articles.
– RSS campaign: Create a recurring campaign That sends new content to readers using your website’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few additional choices, most of these will follow The same step-by-step procedure of a normal campaign.
So let’s walk you through it.
Once you click to create your effort, you’ll be asked to Pick a preferred editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
Otherwise, you can change to the Templates tab and choose from among the pre-designed email templates — that will move you to the dragn’ drop editor by default.
At the time of writing, you’ll find 21 email templates to choose From which is somewhat on the low side, but the layouts are super contemporary.
And, of course, if you would just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I’ll select the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Making customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the cubes in the sidebar to include distinct Kinds of articles to your email, such as videos, merchandise columns, and societal links.
After making your adjustments, just click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be taken to the recipients’ choices where you are able to select your groups or sections.
The tab also allows one To develop segment-like rules , in case your targeting is not quite perfect.
Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get into the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, if that’s immediately, at a set time/date, or according to your readers time zones.
Impressive, right? Email Marketing Effectiveness Statistics
Managing Your Clients
Possessing granular control over your subscribers is arguably one of The most important aspects of any email marketing software now.
Because highly personalized campaigns Are Essential if You’re looking to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while most providers Permit You to”tag” subscribers in order To target them effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different strategy.
When you start up your subscriber dash, you’ll notice two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically rules.
Your subscribers belong to a section only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically added or eliminated so.
Here is what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice how you can also combine Rules, as well as an alternate rule when the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for groups, and also the difference in name, These act much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it)
Unlike Segments, Groups are updated manually or through an Automation rule — that we’ll get to in a moment — and they have no value aside from what you actually call them.
As you start to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are typically used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments permit you to lump multiple subscribers collectively according to a frequent denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I will admit… but I believe it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. Besides, they’re discretionary.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their particular areas, such as name, business, and country.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers together with Your custom field information in distinct columns… or can simply add these fields to a types which will only apply to prospective readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I created and added into a form:
I will not go too much to the form Stuff here because I have an entire section on that below, but this is the strategy I would recommend if you wished to use this feature.
Again, as Soon as You’ve gathered your custom field information from fresh Readers, you can pull them in to your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Custom field.
I am barely scratching the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important that you understand that this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it is reasonable to state MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on point. Email Marketing Effectiveness Statistics
If you’re not impressed with what you have seen so far, then maybe The page builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, you’ll be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Isn’t winning any awards, it will offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, like the majority of us, you don’t have that natural eye for layout.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, though They finally do the identical job; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further construct or alter your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual page builders, and it is better than some dedicated solutions *cough* WPBakery.
Together with the fundamental building blocks, you can use elements like Hero segments, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
No, it will not be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this item over-delivers on all 3 kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite really Provides a Adequate set of type building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there is a lot to cover .
Let us start with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then put on your site to show it on particular pages.
Despite beginning super fundamental, the form designer lets you To customize everything in the form style, subjects, background, name, enter fields and, clearly, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which Provides you a chance To visualize your copy in real time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there’s more to a form than just its physical appearance.
Clicking the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure the way the Form functions, including adding extra fields and setting a custom success page.
(There’s a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, Which can replace the embedded kind and prevents users .
Last but certainly not least, you Can check how your form screens on mobile by shifting the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t be able to make any design changes here, but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that’s an overview of this Embedded form but as I said before, you can also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of the setup Procedure is identical, you will find A few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive selection, they do offer a good foundation to work from and the editor is at least as simple to use with this form kind.
Clicking on the’E-commerce’ template takes me into a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new choices under form types This time around:
Considering paid programs like Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to observe this level of control over popup forms.
And, like before, you can perform the styling options to get it Matched with your own branding.
Finally, you can Select the near Behaviour of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text choice, or have .
That is where most email Marketing platforms will render you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like most tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific coverage for this campaign.
This is where you’ll discover some statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary user…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into individual areas of the report to get a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
For example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see exactly how your readers interacted with your mails in relation to another.
Reports for automations are also Accessible under the’Automations’ tab, though I found these to be less insightful than campaign reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will find the available data more than sufficient to meet their needs.
What is email advertising with no dashboard of automation?
For many reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this review.
The good news? If you have used a visual workflow builder, You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is simple, clean and easy to navigate — something which certainly can’t be said for every email marketing program.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding steps to your workflow.
These steps can be anything from sending an email, including a Delay, a conditional split, or an action, such as moving a contributor or upgrading their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I put together, where readers Are unsubscribed if they do not open my email within seven days.
There are innumerable Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should have no trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign since it lacks a number of the conditional elements. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s currently no automation for moving Readers directly into a different automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can Nevertheless Be achieved by moving Subscribers into various groups that trigger new automation workflows. It’s simply not as effective…. yet.
Another question of efficiency here is when creating new mails From the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email cube to The workflow, you’ll be asked to add your topic line that then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the critique.
This time, but once you’ve established your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back to the automations workflow rather than the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email will be Loaded into your own automation.
A Wonderful touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation block, which means you can find an idea of what it contains at a glimpse.
While this process may seem like A grind on paper, it is actually much faster than what I’m utilized to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you’ve come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, so you will likely find this a downgrade in performance.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there is 1 Kind of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, also I think it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or measure ) based on how Subscribers interact with the pages on your site.
This Sort of behavioral targeting just isn’t accessible MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or plan to use, you may want to skip this one. Email Marketing Effectiveness Statistics
The cost of MailerLite is one of those tools largest Selling points, and let’s face it, most of us love a good deal.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All features (including premium) to get up to 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding on your emails using this plan, it’s still an wonderful alternative for those starting out.
And what about the top programs?
It turns out, at around half of the Cost of this rivalry generally, MailerLite is undoubtedly among the least expensive options available on the industry. Additionally, if you are ready to pay yearly, you can also get a much greater discount.
In fact, I haven’t been able to find anything that does the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those very few marketing tools The (very crowded) industry in recent years, which is no easy feat.
While it’s not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
Overall, I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to beat.
