Introduction Life Insurance Email Marketing

MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?

Like most email marketing providers these days, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the software.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information such as your company name, site, Business, address, company size, record size and even the kind of content you intend to send.
Then, You Have to verify your Website (or domain ).
This remains part of the acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is related to this domain so they can email you a verification link.
Once you’ve completed these Measures, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, check your Site, and ascertain whether you’re a fantastic match for their service.
(In other words, they’re making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll still be Able to utilize the software to create campaigns and play with the features, but you won’t be able to send anything before approved.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here Is What the email said:
But while these steps aren’t perfect for getting started, it Does help prevent unscrupulous users from hurting everyone else’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely upon automations to Deal with Nearly all your email marketing.
(We’ll get to automations soon, do not worry.)
But whether it is a new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always a reason to send a more instant email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Create Campaign’ will provide you several options.
– Regular effort: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Variations, including subject line, from name and, yes, even content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Don’t start your broadcast email, with the choice of altering the subject line and email articles.
– RSS campaign: Create a recurring campaign That sends new content to subscribers using your site’s RSS feed.
Aside from a few added options, the Majority of these will follow The same step-by-step process of a standard effort.
So let us walk you through it.
Once you click on to create your effort, you’ll be asked to Select a preferred editor, whether that’s the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
Otherwise, you can switch to the Templates tab and choose from among their pre-designed email templates — that will move you into the dragn’ drop editor by default.
In the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to choose From which is a little on the low side, however, the layouts are super contemporary.
And, of course, if you’d just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I will choose the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to use, Making customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also utilize the blocks in the sidebar to include different Kinds of articles to your email, such as videos, product columns, and social links.
After making your adjustments, simply click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be carried to the recipients’ choices where you can choose your groups or segments.
The tab also allows one To build segment-like rules , in the event your targeting is not quite right.
Finally, before sending, then you’ll get into the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that is instantly, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Life Insurance Email Marketing
Managing Your Subscribers
Having granular control over your readers is arguably among The most important aspects of any email advertising program now.
Because highly personalized efforts are necessary if You’re looking to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while most providers allow you to”label” subscribers in order To target them effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different strategy.
When you start up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll see two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially principles.
Your readers belong to a section only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically added or eliminated accordingly.
Here is what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice the way you can also blend Rules, as well as an alternate rule if the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for classes, and despite the difference in name, These act much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but ultimately decided against it)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are updated manually or through an Automation rule — that we will get into in a minute — and they have no value aside from what you call them.
As you start to use this stage, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are generally used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in the event you’re uncertain:
Fundamentally, groups are much more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple contributors together according to a frequent denominator.
A tad confusing, I’ll admit… but I feel it’s a fair trade-off For the added flexibility. In any case, they are optional.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their own areas, such as title, business, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your readers along with Your custom field data in separate columns… or can easily add these fields to your types which will only apply to prospective subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added to a form:
I won’t go too much to the form Things here since I have a whole section on this below, but this is the strategy I would recommend if you wanted to use this feature.
Again, as Soon as You’ve collected your custom field information from fresh Subscribers, you are able to pull them in to your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Customized field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important to know this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it is reasonable to state MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on stage. Life Insurance Email Marketing
If you are not impressed by what you’ve seen so far, then maybe The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you’ll be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Isn’t winning any awards, but it does offer a great foundation to work from if, like most people, you don’t have that natural eye for design.
I went ahead and chosen the’Lead Generation’ template, though They ultimately do the identical task; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further construct or change your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is better than a few dedicated solutions *Infection * WPBakery.
Along with the fundamental building blocks, you can use components like Hero sections, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
No, it won’t be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all three form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite really offers a Adequate pair of type building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there’s a whole lot to cover .
Let’s begin with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then put on your website to display it on particular pages.
Despite beginning super basic, the form designer allows you To customize everything in the form style, fields, background, title, input fields and, of course, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which Provides you a Opportunity To visualize your backup in real time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there is more to some form than just its physical appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will Make It Possible for you to configure the way the Form works, including adding extra fields and setting a custom success page.
(There’s a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That can replace the embedded kind also prevents users .
Last but certainly not least, you Can check the way your form displays on mobile by shifting the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any layout changes , but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that’s an Summary of this Embedded form but like I said before, you may even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of this setup Procedure is identical, you will find A few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth choice, they do provide a good base to work from and the editor is at least as easy to use with this form kind.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template requires me to a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new options under form types Now around:
Contemplating paid tools like Thrive Leads exist for both ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to see this amount of control over popup types.
And, as before, you can perform with the styling options to get it Matched with your branding.
Last, you can choose the close Behaviour of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text choice, or have .
That is really where most email Marketing platforms will render you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber development, automation stats, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific coverage for this effort.
This is where you’ll discover a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary user…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into different areas of this report for a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Mail’ tab also displays a click map, so You can see precisely how your subscribers interacted to one another.
Reports for automations are also Available under the’Automations’ tab, even though I found to be less insightful than campaign reports.
Here’s a quick example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will find the available data more than sufficient to meet their demands.
What is email marketing with no dash of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The good news? If you have used a visual workflow builder, You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is easy, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for each and every email marketing software.
After setting your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These steps can be anything from sending an email, including a Postpone, a conditional split, or an action, like transferring a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I put together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they don’t open my email within 7 days.
There are innumerable Possibilities in regards to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign since it lacks some of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.)
For Instance, there’s currently no automation for moving Readers directly into a different automation.
That being said, the Majority of these activities can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into various classes that activate new automation workflows. It’s simply much less effective…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when generating new mails In the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email cube to The workflow, you will be asked to add your topic line that then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, however, once you’ve created your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email will probably be Loaded into your own automation.
A Wonderful touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation cube, so it’s possible to get an concept of what it contains at a glance.
While this process may seem like A grind on paper, it’s actually much quicker than what I’m used to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a fantastic example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, so you’ll likely find this a downgrade in functionality.
It’s fast enough for me, Personally, however I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this section, there’s 1 type of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, also that I think it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or step) based on how Readers interact with all the webpages on your site.
This Sort of behavioral targeting only isn’t available in MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or intend to utilize, you might want to skip this one. Life Insurance Email Marketing
The Price of MailerLite is undoubtedly one of the tools largest Selling points, and let’s face it, most of us love a good bargain.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All attributes (including premium) for up to 1,000 subscribers.
While there is some subtle Branding on your mails using this program, it’s still an amazing option for anyone starting out.
And what about the premium plans?
It ends up, at approximately half the Cost of the rivalry on average, MailerLite is undoubtedly among the least expensive options on the market. Additionally, if you are ready to pay yearly, you can also get a much better discount.
In fact, I have not been able to find anything that does the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is among the very few email marketing tools to disrupt The (very crowded) sector in recent decades, which is no simple feat.
While it is not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
All in all, I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and all at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to beat.
