Intro Mailerlite And Facebook
If I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what would you say? Mailerlite And Facebook
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like most online industries now, email advertising continues to be Dominated by the identical big players for the last decade. Which means that they get encouraged very deeply and accomplish a great deal of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the market, causing long-time users to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done precisely that.

Like most email marketing providers these days, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the program.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information like your company name, site, Business, address, business size, list size and also the kind of material you plan to send.
Then, You Have to confirm your Site (or domain ).
This remains part of this acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is associated to this domain so they can email you a verification link.
As Soon as You’ve completed these Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, check your Website, and ascertain whether you’re a fantastic fit for their service.
(In other words, they are making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll nevertheless be Able to utilize the software to make campaigns and play with the features, but you won’t have the ability to send anything until approved.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
However, while these measures aren’t ideal for getting started, it Does help stop unscrupulous users from damaging everybody’s deliverability.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll rely upon automations to handle The majority of your email advertising.
(We’ll get to automations soon, do not worry.)
But whether it is a new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always some excuse to send a more immediate email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Produce Campaign’ will provide you several choices.
– Regular effort: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Versions, such as subject line, from title and, yes, even content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Do not start your broadcast email, together with the choice of altering the subject line and email articles.
– RSS effort: Produce a recurring campaign That sends fresh content to readers using your website’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few added options, the Majority of these will follow Exactly the exact same step-by-step process of a normal effort.
So let’s walk you through it.
Once you click to create your effort, you’ll be asked to Pick a preferred editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
Otherwise, you can change to the Templates tab and choose from one of their pre-designed email templates — which will move you into the dragn’ drop editor by default.
In the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to choose From which is somewhat on the low side, however, the designs are super modern.
And, of course, if you would just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I’ll select the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Which makes customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also utilize the blocks in the sidebar to include distinct Kinds of articles to your email, including videos, merchandise columns, and societal links.
After making your adjustments, simply click’Done Editing’ and you will Be taken to the recipients’ choices where you can choose your classes or segments.
The tab also allows one To develop segment-like rules on-the-fly, in case your targeting isn’t quite right.
Finally, before sending, you’ll get to the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control if your broadcast email should go Out, if that is immediately, at a set time/date, or according to your readers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite And Facebook
Handling Your Subscribers
Having granular control over your subscribers is arguably one of The most essential facets of any email marketing program today.
Because highly personalized efforts are necessary if You are looking to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your conversions.
And while most providers Permit You to”label” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different strategy.
When you open up your subscriber dash, you’ll notice two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically principles.
Your readers belong to a segment only when they meet the Specified principles, and will be automatically added or removed so.
Here is what setting up a rule looks like:
Notice how you can also combine Rules, as well as another rule when the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for groups, and despite the difference in title, These act much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but ultimately decided against it)
Unlike Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or via an Automation principle — that we’ll get into in a moment — and they don’t have any value aside from what you call them.
As you start to use this stage, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are typically used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple contributors together according to a frequent denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I will admit… but I believe it’s a fair trade-off For the added flexibility. Besides, they’re optional.
Finally, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their own fields, such as title, company, and nation.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your readers along with Your custom field data in distinct columns… or can simply add these fields to a forms which will only apply to future readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test area I created and added to a form:
I will not go too much into the shape Stuff here because I have an entire section on this below, but this is the strategy I’d recommend if you wanted to use this feature.
Again, once you’ve gathered your custom field information from new Readers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Custom field.
I am barely scraping the surface Of what is possible with custom fields, but it’s important to understand that this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it is reasonable to say MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on point. Mailerlite And Facebook
If you’re not impressed by what you’ve seen so far, then maybe The page builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, you’ll be Able to select from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Is not winning any awards, it does offer a fantastic base to work from if, for example the majority people, you do not have that pure eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, however They finally do the same job; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further construct or alter your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual site builders, and it is already better than a few dedicated alternatives *cough* WPBakery.
Along with the fundamental building blocks, you can use elements like Hero segments, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
It won’t be replacing landing Page builders such as Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all 3 form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email marketing tools, MailerLite actually Provides a Adequate set of type building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there is a whole lot to cover .
Let us begin with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then put on your site to display it on specific pages.
Despite beginning super basic, the form designer allows you To personalize everything in the kind style, fields, background, name, enter fields and, clearly, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which gives you a chance To visualize your copy in real time.
It would’ve been nice to have Some templates, but as you know, there is more to some form than just its appearance.
Clicking the’Settings’ tab will Make It Possible for you to configure the way the Form functions, including adding extra fields and establishing a custom success page.
(There is a GDPR compliance alternative. Sweet.)
And talking of the success page…
…MailerLite also enables you to customize the default message, That will replace the embedded kind also prevents users .
Last but certainly not least, you Can check the way your form displays on cellular by shifting the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t be able to make any design changes , but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that’s an overview of this Embedded form but as I said before, you can even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of the setup process is identical, there are Still a few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive choice, they do provide a fantastic base to work from and the editor is just as easy to use with this form kind.
Clicking on the’E-commerce’ template requires me into a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new choices under form types This time around:
Contemplating paid programs like Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to observe this amount of control over popup forms.
And, as before, you can perform the styling options to get it Matched up with your own branding.
Finally, you can choose the near Behavior of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text option, or have .
This is where most email Marketing platforms would render you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like most tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Statistics in the dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click info, Subscriber development, automation stats, and kind signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you special reporting for that effort.
This is where you’ll discover a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading environment, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into individual areas of the report for a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
For example, the’View Mail’ tab also displays a click map, so You can see exactly how your readers interacted to one another.
Reports for automations are Accessible under the’Automations’ tab, though I found these to be less insightful than effort reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and most will get the available data more than sufficient to meet their needs.
What’s email marketing with no dashboard of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this review.
The good news? If you have ever used a visual workflow builder, then You will immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something that certainly can’t be said for every email advertising program.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These steps can be anything from sending an email, including a Postpone, a conditional split, or an act, such as moving a contributor or upgrading their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I put together, where readers Are unsubscribed if they do not open my email within seven days.
There are countless Possibilities in regards to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite should have no trouble with the huge majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign because it lacks a number of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For example, there’s now no automation for transferring Readers directly into a different automation.
That being said, most of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different groups that trigger new automation workflows. It is simply much less efficient…. yet.
Another question of efficacy here is when creating new emails In the automation workflow builder.
After having an email cube to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your subject line which appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Editor:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, however, as Soon as You’ve created your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you back into the automations workflow rather than the usual sending alternatives.
Ultimately, your email address will be Loaded into your automation.
A Wonderful touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation block, so it’s possible to get an concept of what it contains at a glance.
While this process may seem like A grind on newspaper, it’s really much quicker than what I am used to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a fantastic example.
On the other hand, if you’ve come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, you will probably find this a downgrade in functionality.
It’s fast enough for me, Personally, but I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this section, there is one type of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, also I think it’s important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or measure ) based on the way Readers interact with the webpages on your website.
This Sort of behavioral targeting just is not accessible MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or intend to utilize, you might want to skip this one. Mailerlite And Facebook
The Price of MailerLite is no doubt one of those tools biggest Selling points, and let’s face it, most of us love a fantastic deal.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All features (including premium) for as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding in your emails using this plan, it is still an wonderful option for those starting out.
And what about the top programs?
It ends up, at approximately half the Price of the competition on average, MailerLite is by far one of the least expensive options on the market. Additionally, if you are willing to pay yearly, you are also able to get an even greater discount.
In fact, I have not been able to locate anything that does exactly the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is among the email advertising tools The (very crowded) industry in the last couple of years, and that’s no easy feat.
While it is not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to beat.
