Background Mailerlite Facebook
If I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what could you say? Mailerlite Facebook
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like many online businesses today, email advertising continues to be Dominated by the same large players for the last decade. Which means that they get promoted very heavily and accomplish a lot of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the marketplace, inducing long-time users to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done exactly that.
So now, in this review, I will be ripping MailerLite from limb To limb to find out if it really stands its ground against the big boys…

Like most email advertising providers Nowadays, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the program.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information like your organization name, website, Industry, address, company size, list size and also the type of content you plan to send.
Then, You Have to verify your Site (or domain name).
This remains part of this acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is related to that domain in order that they can email you a confirmation link.
As Soon as You’ve completed these Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, check your Website, and ascertain whether you’re a good fit for their service.
(In other words, they are making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll nevertheless be Able to use the software to make campaigns and perform with the attributes, but you won’t have the ability to send anything until accepted.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limitation of 500 subscribers.
Here Is What the email said:
However, while these measures are not perfect for getting started, it Does help prevent malicious users from hurting everyone else’s deliverability.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to handle Nearly all your email marketing.
(We will get to automations shortly, don’t worry.)
But whether it is a brand new blog article, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always a reason to send a more immediate email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Create Campaign’ will provide you several options.
– Regular effort: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Versions, such as subject line, from name and, yes, even content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Do not open your broadcast email, together with the option of altering the subject line and email articles.
– RSS effort: Produce a recurring campaign That sends new content to readers using your website’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few additional choices, most of these will follow The exact same step-by-step procedure of a normal campaign.
So let us walk you through it.
Once you click to create your effort, you’ll be requested to Select a preferred editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can change to the Templates tab and choose from one of the pre-designed email templates — that will move you into the dragn’ drop editor .
In the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to select From which is a little on the low side, however, the designs are super modern.
And, of course, if you’d just Like to reuse a previous email, you can click the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this example, I’ll select the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to use, Which makes customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the cubes in the sidebar to include distinct Kinds of articles to your email, such as videos, product columns, and societal links.
After making your adjustments, simply click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be taken to the recipients’ choices where you can select your groups or segments.
The advanced tab also allows one To build segment-like rules , in the event your targeting isn’t quite right.
Finally, before sending, then you’ll get to the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that’s immediately, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your readers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite Facebook
Managing Your Clients
Possessing granular control over your readers is arguably among The most important aspects of any email marketing program today.
Because highly personalized efforts are necessary if You are searching to increase clicks, opens, and, above all, your conversions.
And while many providers Permit You to”tag” readers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different approach.
When you open up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll see two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially rules.
Your readers belong to a section only when they meet the Specified principles, and will be automatically inserted or removed accordingly.
Here is what setting up a rule looks like:
Notice the way you can even combine Rules, as well as another rule when the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for groups, and also the difference in name, These behave much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but finally decided against it)
Unlike Segments, Groups are updated manually or through an Automation principle — which we’ll get to in a minute — and they don’t have any value besides what you actually call them.
As you start to use this stage, you’ll Start to understand At which Segments and Groups are typically used, but MailerLite delivers a hand in case you’re uncertain:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple subscribers collectively based on a common denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I’ll admit… but I feel it is a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. Besides, they’re optional.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their own fields, such as title, company, and nation.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your readers along with Your custom field information in separate columns… or can easily add these fields to your types which will only apply to future readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test area I created and added to a form:
I will not go too much to the shape Things here since I have a whole section on that below, but this is the approach I’d recommend if you wanted to use this attribute.
Again, once you’ve gathered your custom field information from fresh Readers, you are able to pull them in to your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Customized field.
I am barely scraping the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important that you know this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it’s fair to state MailerLite has their contributor Management and personalization features on stage. Mailerlite Facebook
If you’re not impressed by what you have seen so far, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you will be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Isn’t winning any awards, but it will offer a great base to work from if, for example most people, you do not have that natural eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, however They all ultimately do the same task; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further construct or alter your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is already better than some dedicated alternatives *cough* WPBakery.
Together with the basic building blocks, you can use elements like Hero segments, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
No, it won’t be replacing landing Page builders such as Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all three kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite actually offers a Decent pair of type building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there is a lot to cover .
Let us start with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then put on your website to display it on particular pages.
Despite starting off super fundamental, the form designer allows you To personalize everything from the kind style, fields, background, title, enter fields and, clearly, the button.
Form text can also be edited directly, which gives you a chance To visualize your copy in real time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there is more to a form than just its appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure the way the Form works, including adding additional fields and establishing a custom success page.
(There’s a GDPR compliance alternative. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, Which can replace the embedded kind and prevents users from redirecting.
Last but certainly not least, you Can check how your form screens on cellular by shifting the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t be able to make any design changes here, but it makes Sense to test, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of the Embedded form but as I said before, you may even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of this installation Procedure is identical, you will find Still a few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive choice, they do provide a fantastic foundation to work from and the editor is just as easy to use with this form kind.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template requires me to a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are a few new choices under form types This time around:
Contemplating paid programs such as Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it is pretty impressive to observe this level of control over popup forms.
And, as before, you can perform with the styling options to get it Matched with your own branding.
Last, you can Select the close Behavior of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text option, or have .
That is really where most email Marketing platforms will render you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Data in the dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber growth, automation stats, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you special reporting for that effort.
This is where you’ll find a few statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, studying environment, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary user…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into different areas of the report for a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Email’ tab also displays a click map, so You can see your readers interacted with your emails compared to one another.
Reports for automations will also be Accessible under the’Automations’ tab, although I found these to be less enlightening than campaign reports.
Here’s a quick example:
Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting interface, and many will get the available data more than enough to fulfill their demands.
What is email advertising without a dash of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this review.
The good news? If you’ve ever used a visual workflow builder, You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for each and every email marketing software.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These measures could be anything from sending an email, including a Postpone, a bubble break, or an act, such as transferring a subscriber or updating their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I put together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are innumerable Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign because it lacks a number of the conditional components. (Split, Go To, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s currently no automation for moving Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, most of these activities can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different groups that trigger new automation workflows. It is simply not as efficient…. yet.
Another matter of efficiency here is when creating new mails In the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email block to The workflow, you will be asked to add your topic line that appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, but once you’ve established your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back into the automations workflow rather than the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email address will probably be Loaded into your own automation.
A nice touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation block, which means it’s possible to get an concept about what it contains at a glance.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on paper, it is actually much quicker than what I’m utilized to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you’ve come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, so you’ll probably find this a downgrade in performance.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this section, there is 1 type of automation You will not find in MailerLite, and I think it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or measure ) based on the way Subscribers interact with all the webpages on your website.
This kind of behavioral targeting only isn’t available in MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or plan to use, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite Facebook
The cost of MailerLite is one of those tools largest Selling points, and let us face it, most of us love a good deal.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All features (including premium) for up to 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding in your emails using this program, it is still an amazing option for those starting out.
And what about the top plans?
It ends up, at approximately half the Price of this rivalry generally, MailerLite is by far one of the cheapest options available on the industry. Plus, if you are ready to pay annually, you are also able to get a much greater discount.
In fact, I haven’t been able to find anything that does exactly the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of the few email marketing tools The (very crowded) industry in recent years, and that’s no simple feat.
While it is not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to beat.
