Introduction Mailerlite Freebie
When I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what would you say? Mailerlite Freebie
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like most online industries now, email advertising continues to be Dominated by the identical big players for the last decade. Which means they get promoted very heavily and achieve a lot of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the marketplace, inducing long-time users to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done precisely that.

Like most email advertising providers these days, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the program.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information like your organization name, website, Business, address, business size, list size and also the kind of material you intend to send.
Then, You Have to confirm your Website (or domain name).
This remains part of the acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is related to that domain in order that they could email you a verification link.
As Soon as You’ve completed those Measures, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite staff will review your application, check your Website, and determine whether you are a good fit for their services.
(In other words, they are making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll nevertheless be Able to utilize the software to create campaigns and perform with the attributes, but you won’t have the ability to send anything before approved.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
But while these measures are not ideal for getting started, it Does help prevent unscrupulous users from damaging everyone else’s deliverability.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to handle Nearly all your email marketing.
(We will get to automations soon, don’t worry.)
But whether it’s a new blog article, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always a reason to send a more immediate email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Produce Campaign’ will give you several options.
– Regular campaign: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Variations, such as subject line, from name and, yes, even content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Don’t start your broadcast email, together with the option of altering the subject line and email content.
– RSS effort: Produce a recurring campaign That sends new content to readers using your website’s RSS feed.
Aside from a few added options, most of these will follow The same step-by-step procedure of a standard campaign.
So let’s walk you through it.
As Soon as You click to create your effort, you’ll be asked to Pick a preferred editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can change to the Templates tab and choose from one of their pre-designed email templates — that will move you to the dragn’ drop editor by default.
At the time of writing, you’ll find 21 email templates to select From which is a little on the low side, however, the layouts are super modern.
And, of course, if you’d just Like to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this example, I will choose the first template from the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Which makes viewing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also utilize the cubes in the sidebar to add distinct Types of articles to your email, including videos, product columns, and social connections.
After making your changes, just click’Done Editing’ and you will Be carried to the recipients’ options where you are able to choose your groups or sections.
The advanced tab also allows you To develop segment-like rules , in case your targeting isn’t quite right.
Finally, right before sending, you’ll get to the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, if that’s instantly, at a set time/date, or according to your readers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite Freebie
Handling Your Clients
Possessing granular control over your readers is arguably among The most essential facets of any email marketing program today.
Because highly personalized efforts are necessary if You’re looking to increase opens, clicks, and, above all, your own conversions.
And while many providers allow you to”label” subscribers in order To target them effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different strategy.
When you start up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll see two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically principles.
Your subscribers belong to a section only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically added or eliminated so.
Here’s what setting up a rule looks like:
Notice how you can even combine Rules, as well as an alternate rule if the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for groups, and despite the difference in title, These act much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but finally decided against it)
Unlike Segments, Groups are updated manually or via an Automation principle — which we will get into in a minute — and they have no value aside from what you call them.
As you start to use this stage, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are generally used, but MailerLite offers a hand in the event you’re unsure:
Fundamentally, groups are much more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple subscribers collectively based on a common denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I will admit… but I believe it is a fair trade-off For the added flexibility. Besides, they’re discretionary.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their own fields, such as name, business, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your readers along with Your custom field information in distinct columns… or may simply add these fields to your types which will only apply to future subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I created and added into a form:
I will not go too much into the form Stuff here since I have an entire section on this below, but this is the strategy I’d recommend if you wished to use this attribute.
Again, as Soon as You’ve collected your custom field data from new Subscribers, you are able to pull them in to your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Customized field.
I’m barely scratching the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it’s important to understand this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it is fair to say MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on point. Mailerlite Freebie
If you are not impressed with what you’ve seen up to Now, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you will be Able to select from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Isn’t winning any awards, but it will offer a great base to work from if, for example the majority people, you do not have that pure eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, however They finally do the identical job; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further construct or change your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual site builders, and it is already better than some dedicated solutions *Infection * WPBakery.
Along with the basic building blocks, you can use elements like Hero sections, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
No, it won’t be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this item over-delivers on all 3 form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email marketing tools, MailerLite really offers a Adequate pair of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there is a whole lot to cover .
Let us begin with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then place on your site to display it on specific pages.
Despite beginning super fundamental, the form designer lets you To customize everything in the kind style, subjects, background, name, enter fields and, of course, the button.
Form text can also be edited directly, which gives you a chance To visualize your backup in real time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates, but as you know, there is more to a form than simply its appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure how the Form works, including adding additional fields and setting a custom success page.
(There is a GDPR compliance alternative. Sweet.)
And talking of the success page…
…MailerLite also enables you to customize the default message, Which will replace the embedded kind also prevents users from redirecting.
Last but surely not least, you Can assess how your form displays on mobile by shifting the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any layout changes , but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of this Embedded form but as I said before, you can also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of this setup process is identical, you will find Still a few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive selection, they do offer a good foundation to work from and the editor is at least as simple to use with this form type.
Clicking on the’E-commerce’ template takes me to a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are a few new options under form types This time around:
Considering paid programs such as Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to see this level of control over popup forms.
And, like before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched with your own branding.
Last, you can choose the close Behaviour of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text option, or have .
This is really where most email Marketing platforms will leave you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Data in the dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click info, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and form signups.
Clicking into any effort will Give you special reporting for that campaign.
This is where you’ll find some more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, studying surroundings, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into individual areas of this report to get a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
For example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so It’s possible to see your subscribers interacted with your mails in relation to another.
Reports for automations will also be Accessible under the’Automations’ tab, though I found these to be less insightful than campaign reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and most will find the available data more than enough to meet their needs.
What is email marketing without a dashboard of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The good news? If you have used a visual workflow builder, You will instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something that certainly can not be said for every email marketing software.
After setting your trigger, you can begin adding steps to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, adding a Postpone, a conditional split, or an act, like moving a subscriber or upgrading their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I set together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they do not open my email within seven days.
There are innumerable Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite should have no trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign because it lacks some of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s now no automation for moving Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, the Majority of these activities can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that activate new automation workflows. It’s just much less efficient…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when creating new emails In the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email cube to The workflow, you will be asked to add your topic line which appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the critique.
This time, but as Soon as You’ve established your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you back into the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Finally, your email will be Loaded into your automation.
A nice touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation block, which means you can find an concept about what it contains at a glimpse.
While this process may seem like A grind on paper, it is actually much faster than what I’m utilized to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a fantastic example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, you will likely find this a downgrade in performance.
It’s quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there is one type of automation You will not find in MailerLite, also that I think that it’s important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or step) based on the way Readers interact with all the webpages on your site.
This Sort of behavioral targeting just isn’t available in MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or intend to use, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite Freebie
The cost of MailerLite is among those tools largest Selling points, and let us face it, most of us love a good deal.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All features (including premium) to get up to 1,000 subscribers.
While there is some subtle Branding in your emails using this program, it’s still an wonderful option for those starting out.
And what about the top plans?
It turns out, at approximately half of the Cost of this rivalry generally, MailerLite is undoubtedly among the least expensive options available on the industry. Additionally, if you’re ready to pay annually, you are also able to get an even greater discount.
In fact, I have not been able to locate anything that does exactly the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those email marketing tools to disrupt The (very crowded) sector in the last couple of decades, and that’s no simple feat.
While it’s not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to beat.
Thinking about giving it a twist? Let us know how it works for you In the remarks. Mailerlite Freebie
