Introduction Mailerlite Instagram
When I asked you to name an email Marketing instrument, what could you say? Mailerlite Instagram
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like many online industries today, email marketing has been Dominated by the same large players for the last ten years. Which means they get promoted very heavily and accomplish a great deal of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the market, causing long-time customers to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done exactly that.
So today, in this review, I’ll be ripping MailerLite from limb To limb to find out whether it really stands its own ground against the big boys…
…and, what’s more, whether youshould consider making the switch.

Like most email marketing providers Nowadays, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the software.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information such as your organization name, website, Industry, address, business size, list size and also the kind of content you intend to send.
Then, you need to confirm your Website (or domain name).
This remains part of this approval process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is associated to this domain in order that they can email you a verification link.
Once you’ve completed these Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, check your Site, and determine whether you’re a good fit for their service.
(In other words, they’re making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll still be Able to use the software to create campaigns and play with the features, but you will not have the ability to send anything until approved.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
But while these steps are not ideal for getting started, it Does help stop malicious users from hurting everyone else’s deliverability.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll rely upon automations to handle Nearly all your email marketing.
(We’ll get to automations shortly, do not worry.)
But if it’s a new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always a reason to send a more instant email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Create Campaign’ will provide you several choices.
– Regular effort: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Variations, including subject line, from name and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Do not start your broadcast email, with the option of changing the subject line and email articles.
– RSS campaign: Create a recurring campaign That sends fresh content to subscribers using your site’s RSS feed.
Aside from a few added choices, most of these will follow The same step-by-step process of a normal effort.
So let’s walk you through it.
As Soon as You click to create your campaign, you’ll be requested to Select a favorite editor, whether that’s the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can change to the Templates tab and select from one of their pre-designed email templates — that will move you into the dragn’ drop editor by default.
At the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to select From which is a little on the low side, but the designs are super contemporary.
And, of course, if you’d just Like to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this example, I’ll choose the first template from the library.
The editor is easy to use, Which makes customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also utilize the blocks in the sidebar to include distinct Types of content to your email, such as videos, product columns, and societal links.
After making your adjustments, just click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be carried to the recipients’ options where you are able to choose your classes or sections.
The advanced tab also allows one To develop segment-like rules , in the event your targeting isn’t quite perfect.
Finally, right before sending, you’ll get to the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that’s immediately, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite Instagram
Handling Your Clients
Having granular control over your readers is arguably one of The most important facets of any email advertising program now.
Because highly personalized campaigns are necessary if You are looking to increase clicks, opens, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while many providers allow you to”tag” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different strategy.
When you start up your subscriber dash, you’ll see two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically rules.
Your subscribers belong to a segment only when they fulfill the Specified rules, and are automatically added or removed so.
Here is what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice the way you can also blend Rules, as well as another rule if the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for classes, and also the difference in name, These act much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Unlike Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or via an Automation rule — which we’ll get into in a minute — and they don’t have any value aside from what you actually call them.
As you Begin to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand At which Segments and Groups are typically used, but MailerLite delivers a hand in the event you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple contributors collectively based on a frequent denominator.
A tad confusing, I’ll admit… but I feel it is a fair trade-off For the added flexibility. Besides, they’re optional.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their particular fields, such as name, company, and country.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your readers along with Your custom field information in separate columns… or can simply add these fields to your types which will only apply to prospective subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added to a form:
I won’t go too much into the shape Things here since I have an entire section on this below, but this is the approach I’d recommend if you wished to use this attribute.
Again, as Soon as You’ve collected your custom field information from fresh Subscribers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Custom field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important to know that this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it’s reasonable to state MailerLite has their contributor Direction and personalization features on point. Mailerlite Instagram
If you’re not impressed by what you have seen up to Now, then perhaps The page builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you will be Able to select from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, it will offer a great foundation to work from if, for example the majority people, you don’t have that natural eye for layout.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, though They ultimately do the identical job; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further build or change your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is already better than some dedicated alternatives *cough* WPBakery.
Along with the basic building blocks, you can use components like Hero sections, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
No, it will not be replacing landing Page builders such as Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all three kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite actually offers a Adequate set of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there’s a lot to cover here.
Let us begin with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then put on your site to show it on specific pages.
Despite beginning super basic, the form designer lets you To customize everything in the form style, fields, background, title, input fields and, of course, the button.
Form text can also be edited directly, which Provides you a chance To envision your own backup in real time.
It would’ve been nice to have Some templates, but as you know, there is more to a form than just its appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will Make It Possible for you to configure the way the Form functions, including adding extra fields and setting a custom success page.
(There’s even a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That can replace the embedded kind also prevents users from redirecting.
Last but certainly not least, you Can assess the way your form displays on cellular by switching the toggle to responsive mode.
You won’t be able to make any layout changes here, but it makes Sense to test, nevertheless.
So that’s an overview of the Embedded form but like I said before, you may also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of this installation Procedure is identical, there are A few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth choice, they do provide a good foundation to work from and the editor is just as simple to use for this form type.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template takes me to a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are a few new options under form types Now around:
Considering paid tools such as Thrive Leads exist for both ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to observe this amount of control over popup types.
And, like before, you can perform the styling options to get it Matched up with your own branding.
Last, you can choose the close Behaviour of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text choice, or have both.
This is really where most email Marketing platforms will leave you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like most tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you special coverage for this campaign.
This is where you’ll find a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the average user…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into different areas of this report for a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Email’ tab also displays a click map, so It’s possible to see how your readers interacted to one another.
Reports for automations are also Accessible under the’Automations’ tab, although I found to be less enlightening than campaign reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and most will find the available data more than sufficient to fulfill their needs.
What is email marketing without a dash of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The great news? If you have used a visual workflow builder, then You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is easy, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for every email advertising program.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These steps could be anything from sending an email, including a Delay, a bubble break, or an act, such as moving a subscriber or updating their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I set together, where readers Are unsubscribed when they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are countless Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite ought to have no trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign since it lacks a number of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s now no automation for moving Readers directly into a different automation.
That being said, most of these actions can Nevertheless Be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that trigger new automation workflows. It is simply not as effective…. yet.
Another question of efficiency here is when creating new emails From the automation workflow builder.
After having an email block to The workflow, you’ll be asked to add your subject line that then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the review.
This time, but once you’ve created your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email address will probably be Loaded into your automation.
A nice touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation cube, so you can find an idea of what it contains at a glance.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on newspaper, it is actually much quicker than what I am utilized to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a fantastic example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, so you will likely find this a downgrade in performance.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, however I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there is 1 type of automation You will not find in MailerLite, and I think it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or step) based on the way Readers interact with all the pages on your website.
This kind of behavioral targeting only isn’t available in MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or intend to utilize, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite Instagram
The Price of MailerLite is one of those tools biggest Selling points, and let’s face it, most of us love a good bargain.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All features (including premium) for as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding in your emails using this plan, it is still an amazing option for anyone starting out.
And what about the top programs?
It ends up, at around half the Cost of this competition generally, MailerLite is undoubtedly among the cheapest options on the industry. Plus, if you’re willing to pay annually, you can also get an even better discount.
In Reality, I have not been able to locate anything that does exactly the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those very few marketing tools The (very crowded) industry in recent decades, and that’s no easy feat.
While it’s not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and all at a price point you will seriously struggle to beat.
