Intro Mailerlite Magento
When I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what would you say? Mailerlite Magento
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like most online industries now, email marketing has been Dominated by the same large players for the previous decade. Which means they get encouraged very deeply and achieve a great deal of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the marketplace, causing long-time customers to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done precisely that.
So now, in this short article, I will be tearing MailerLite from limb To limb to find out whether it stands its ground against the big boys…
…and, what’s more, whether youshould consider making the switch.

Like most email marketing providers Nowadays, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the software.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information like your company name, website, Industry, address, business size, list size and also the type of content you plan to send.
Then, you need to confirm your Website (or domain ).
This is still part of the approval process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is associated to that domain in order that they can email you a verification link.
As Soon as You’ve completed these Measures, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite staff will review your application, assess your Site, and ascertain whether you are a fantastic fit for their service.
(Quite simply, they are making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll still be Able to use the software to make campaigns and play with the features, but you won’t be able to send anything before accepted.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limitation of 500 subscribers.
Here Is What the email said:
However, while these measures are not ideal for getting started, it Does help prevent malicious users from damaging everybody’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely upon automations to Deal with The majority of your email advertising.
(We will get to automations soon, don’t worry.)
But if it’s a brand new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always a reason to send a more immediate email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Create Campaign’ will give you several options.
– Regular campaign: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Variations, including subject line, from title and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Don’t start your broadcast email, together with the option of changing the subject line and email articles.
– RSS campaign: Create a recurring campaign That sends new content to subscribers using your site’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few added options, most of these will follow Exactly the same step-by-step procedure of a standard campaign.
So let’s walk you through it.
As Soon as You click to create your campaign, you’ll be requested to Select a favorite editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
Otherwise, you can change to the Templates tab and choose from one of the pre-designed email templates — which will move you into the dragn’ drop editor .
In the time of writing, you’ll find 21 email templates to select From which is a little on the low side, but the layouts are super modern.
And, of course, if you would just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I’ll select the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to use, Making viewing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also utilize the blocks in the sidebar to add distinct Types of content to your email, such as videos, product columns, and societal connections.
After making your changes, just click’Done Editing’ and you will Be carried to the recipients’ choices where you can select your classes or sections.
The advanced tab also allows one To build segment-like rules on-the-fly, in the event your targeting is not quite right.
Finally, before sending, then you’ll get into the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control if your broadcast email should go Out, if that is immediately, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your readers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite Magento
Managing Your Subscribers
Having granular control over your subscribers is arguably among The most essential aspects of any email marketing software now.
Because highly personalized campaigns are necessary if You are searching to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while most providers allow you to”tag” subscribers in order To target them effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different approach.
When you open up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll notice two Options; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically rules.
Your readers belong to a segment only when they fulfill the Specified principles, and are automatically added or eliminated accordingly.
Here is what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice the way you can even combine Rules, in addition to another rule when the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for classes, and despite the difference in name, These act much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or via an Automation rule — which we will get to in a minute — and they have no value aside from what you actually call them.
As you start to use this platform, you’ll Start to understand At which Segments and Groups are generally used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple contributors together based on a common denominator.
A tad confusing, I will admit… but I feel it is a fair trade-off For the added flexibility. In any case, they’re discretionary.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their particular fields, such as title, company, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your readers along with Your custom field information in separate columns… or may simply add these fields to your forms which will only apply to future readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added into a form:
I won’t go too much into the form Things here because I have an entire section on this below, but this is the strategy I’d recommend if you wished to use this feature.
Again, as Soon as You’ve gathered your custom field information from new Subscribers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Customized field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important to understand that this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it is fair to state MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on point. Mailerlite Magento
If you are not impressed by what you have seen so far, then perhaps The page builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you’ll be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Isn’t winning any awards, but it will offer a great base to work from if, for example most people, you don’t have that natural eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, though They ultimately do the same task; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further build or change your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual site builders, and it is better than a few dedicated solutions *Infection * WPBakery.
Together with the basic building blocks, you can use components like Hero segments, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
It will not be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this item over-delivers on all 3 form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite really Provides a Decent pair of type building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there is a whole lot to cover here.
Let us begin with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then put on your site to show it on specific pages.
Despite starting off super basic, the form designer lets you To customize everything in the kind style, subjects, background, title, input fields and, clearly, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which Provides you a Opportunity To visualize your copy in real-time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there is more to some form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking the’Settings’ tab will Make It Possible for you to configure how the Form works, such as adding extra fields and setting a custom success page.
(There is even a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And talking of the success page…
…MailerLite also enables you to customize the default message, Which will replace the embedded kind also prevents users .
Last but certainly not least, you Can check the way your form displays on cellular by switching the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any design changes , but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of this Embedded form but like I said before, you may also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of this installation process is identical, there are Still a few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive selection, they do provide a good base to work from and the editor is just as easy to use with this form kind.
Clicking on the’E-commerce’ template requires me to a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new choices under form types This time around:
Contemplating paid programs like Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to see this amount of control over popup forms.
And, as before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched up with your branding.
Finally, you can choose the near Behaviour of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text choice, or have .
That is really where most email Marketing platforms would leave you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like most tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click info, Subscriber development, automation stats, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you special coverage for that effort.
This is where you’ll discover some more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary user…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into different areas of this report for a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
For example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see how your subscribers interacted to one another.
Reports for automations are also Available under the’Automations’ tab, although I found to be less enlightening than campaign reports.
Here’s a quick example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will find the available data more than sufficient to meet their needs.
What’s email marketing with no dashboard of automation?
For many reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The good news? If you’ve used a visual workflow builder, You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is simple, clean and easy to navigate — something that certainly can’t be said for every email advertising software.
After establishing your trigger, you can begin adding measures to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, adding a Postpone, a bubble break, or an act, such as moving a contributor or upgrading their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I set together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed when they don’t open my email within 7 days.
There are countless Possibilities in regards to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite ought to not have any trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign because it lacks a number of the conditional elements. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s currently no automation for moving Readers directly into a different automation.
That being said, most of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into various classes that activate new automation workflows. It is just much less efficient…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when generating new mails In the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email block to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your subject line which then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the review.
This time, however, as Soon as You’ve created your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back into the automations workflow rather than the usual sending alternatives.
Finally, your email address will be Loaded into your automation.
A Wonderful touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation cube, which means it’s possible to find an idea about what it contains at a glimpse.
While this process may seem like A grind on newspaper, it is actually much faster than what I am utilized to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, you’ll likely find that this downgrade in performance.
It’s fast enough for me, Personally, however I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s 1 type of automation You will not find in MailerLite, also that I think it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or step) based on the way Subscribers interact with all the pages on your website.
This Sort of behavioral targeting just is not available in MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or intend to use, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite Magento
The Price of MailerLite is one of the tools largest Selling things, and let us face it, we all love a fantastic bargain.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All features (including premium) to get as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While there is some subtle Branding in your mails using this plan, it’s still an wonderful alternative for anyone starting out.
And what about the top plans?
It ends up, at approximately half of the Price of this rivalry generally, MailerLite is undoubtedly among the cheapest options on the market. Plus, if you’re willing to pay annually, you are also able to get an even better discount.
In Reality, I haven’t been able to locate anything that does exactly the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of the email advertising tools The (very crowded) sector in the last couple of decades, which is no easy feat.
While it’s not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to beat.
Thinking about giving it a twist? Let us know how it works for you From the comments. Mailerlite Magento
