Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get into the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that’s immediately, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your readers time zones.

Handling Your Subscribers
Possessing granular control over your readers is arguably among The most important facets of any email advertising program today.

And while most providers allow you to”tag” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different approach.
When you open up your subscriber dash, you’ll see two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially rules.
Your readers belong to a section only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically added or removed so.

Notice how you can also combine Principles, as well as another rule when the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for classes, and despite the difference in name, These act much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it)
Unlike Segments, Groups are updated manually or through an Automation principle — that we’ll get to in a moment — and they have no value aside from what you actually call them.
As you start to use this stage, you’ll begin to understand At which Segments and Groups are typically used, however, MailerLite delivers a hand in the event you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber basis, whereas Segments permit you to bulge multiple contributors collectively according to a frequent denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I’ll admit… but I believe it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. In any case, they’re discretionary.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their own fields, such as name, business, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your subscribers along with Your custom field data in distinct columns… or may simply add these fields to a forms which will only apply to prospective readers.

I will not go too much into the form Things here since I have an entire section on that below, but this is the strategy I would recommend if you wished to use this attribute.
Again, as Soon as You’ve gathered your custom field data from fresh Readers, you can pull them in to your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Custom field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important to know this is a feature you may use.

If you are not impressed with what you have seen so far, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you’ll be Able to select from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, but it does offer a great foundation to work from if, like the majority of us, you don’t have that pure eye for layout.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, however They finally do the same task; collect an email address.

Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite actually offers a Decent pair of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there is a whole lot to cover here.
Let’s begin with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then put on your site to display it on particular pages.
Despite starting off super basic, the form designer lets you To customize everything in the form style, fields, background, title, input fields and, of course, the button.

Last but surely not least, you Can assess how your form screens on mobile by switching the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t be able to make any layout changes here, but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that’s an overview of this Embedded form but like I said before, you may also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of the setup process is identical, you will find Still a few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth choice, they do offer a good base to work from and the editor is at least as simple to use for this form kind.

Last, you can choose the close Behaviour of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text option, or have .
That is really where most email Marketing platforms would leave you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like most tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber growth, automation analytics, and kind signups.
Clicking into any effort will Give you specific coverage for this effort.
This is where you’ll find some statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading environment, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into different areas of this report for a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Email’ tab also displays a click map, so It’s possible to see exactly how your subscribers interacted with your emails compared to one another.
Reports for automations will also be Available under the’Automations’ tab, even though I found these to be less insightful than campaign reports.

Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will find the available statistics more than enough to meet their demands.
What’s email marketing with no dash of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could easily make or break this particular review.
The great news? If you have ever used a visual workflow builder, then You will instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is simple, clean and easy to navigate — something that certainly can’t be said for every email marketing software.
After setting your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These steps could be anything from sending an email, including a Delay, a bubble break, or an act, like transferring a contributor or upgrading their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I set together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are innumerable Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should have no trouble with the huge majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign because it lacks a number of the conditional elements. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.)
For example, there’s currently no automation for moving Subscribers directly into a different automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different groups that activate new automation workflows. It is simply not as efficient…. yet.
Another question of efficiency here is when generating new emails In the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email cube to The workflow, you will be asked to add your topic line which appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, but once you’ve established your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email will probably be Loaded into your automation.
A nice touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation cube, which means it’s possible to find an concept of what it contains at a glimpse.
While this process may seem like A grind on newspaper, it is really much faster than what I am used to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, so you’ll likely find that this downgrade in functionality.
It’s quick enough for me, Personally, however I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there is one Kind of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, and that I think it’s important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or step) based on how Subscribers interact with all the pages on your website.
This kind of behavioral targeting only isn’t available in MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or plan to use, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite Reports
The Price of MailerLite is one of those tools largest Selling points, and let’s face it, we all love a fantastic deal.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All attributes (including premium) to get up to 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding on your mails using this plan, it’s still an amazing option for anyone starting out.
And what about the premium plans?
It ends up, at around half the Cost of this rivalry on average, MailerLite is undoubtedly one of the cheapest options available on the market. Additionally, if you’re willing to pay yearly, you are also able to get a much greater discount.
In fact, I have not been able to find anything that does exactly the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is among those very few email marketing tools The (very crowded) industry in the last couple of years, and that’s no easy feat.
While it is not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
Overall, I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and all at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to conquer.
